Preparation

I work a week; I then get paid
For work which I have done.
I get up early every morn,
And work from sun to sun.

Preparing for: my bills to pay,
Buy food for meals and snacks.
Go shopping for the clothes we'll wear,
And firewood by the stacks.

We all prepare for next weekend,
To have some family fun.
Prepare the car for some short trip,
Make sure that it will run.

And preparation; aptly made:
To go on our vacation,
Or holidays, which we always
Enjoy, for preparation

Is always made for all these things,
Retirement, too, is one.
Insurance plan, the best we can,
In case some problem comes.

We all prepare for ‘sleepy time’,
Make beds, watch what we eat,
That we may sleep the night away,
For we all need that sleep!

There’s just one thing that some leave out:
Eternity will come.
Will we be then prepared to go
To that eternal home?

Our God, He knew, that me and you,
In sinful flesh, would sin.
So He provided us a Way,
That we might enter in

To that great place beyond this space;
For He sent Christ, our Lord,
To live, and die, for you and I,
And He gave us His word:

If you believe in Jesus Christ,
The Savior of our souls,
Then we shall in eternity
Live on, while ages roll,

In that new heaven and new earth,
God shall make for His sons;
And those who have believed in Christ
Will see God, every one.

God made the Way for that great day,
And told that way to me.
So I prepared, for Jesus cared,
 And prepared a place for me.

Do you know  Christ, the only Savior,
Died for all mankind.
If you’ll believe, you will receive
Salvation; peace of mind.

Then you and I, beyond the sky,
Will live, and laugh, and love,
For Jesus cared; and we’ve prepared
To live with Him above.
