Old and New (March 14, 2012)

The ‘testaments’ of Jesus Christ,
Two sections, Old and New, John 5:39-40
Speak of His life, His works, His love;
It speaks to me and you. II Timothy 3:16-17
His purpose of creation was
To build a family. I John 3:1-2
And His commandment then, to Adam: Genesis 2:16-17
‘Don’t eat of that tree!’
Did Adam listen? For a while,
But then his wife, then he,
Transgressed the law that God gave him,
And ate fruit from that tree. Genesis 3:6
Now Satan was the dragon who
Had lured them to their sin. Genesis 3:1-5
Then Adam’s flesh, sentenced to death,
We inherited from him. Hebrews 9:27
So now the knowledge, good and evil,
Rests within our flesh:
Because of that, we all have sinned. Romans 5:12; 3:23
But we can start afresh;
Before the world was, Jesus Christ,
The Lamb of God was slain, John 1:29
So we, from sin, might enter in
Believing in His name. John 3:16-18a
Now God’s domain is our domain,
We, in God’s kingdom dwell, Ephesians 1:3
Whereas before, we had no hope;
Our souls were bound for hell. Psalm 9:17
By Jesus Christ, Who died for all, Isaiah 53:5-6
Believing, we receive
Eternal life. So now we go II Corinthians 5:17-21
To others, who’ll believe, Mark 16:15
And change their ‘fate’ to ‘destiny’ Revelation 20:10-15
With God for evermore,
Believing, each, ‘good news’ we preach,
They’re saved from sins before.
John three, sixteen, that’s what I mean:
God saves us from our sin;
He'll make new heaven and new earth Revelation 21:1-7
That we may enter in,
Where love, and joy, and peace, forever,
As mild breezes flow,
And righteousness, with God we’re blessed, II Peter 3:17
With Him for evermore.
Acts 16:31:
31) “And they (Paul and Silas) said (to the jailor), ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and (all that are in) thy house (who will also believe).”
