Good Things (The Bible Says)

Does it disturb you when you hear
Of Jesus Christ, the Lord?                                                   John 1:14
Your situation many feel,
For they don’t know His word.                                           Romans 5:8

He made the world, the universe,            Genesis 1:1; John 1:1-3; Hebrews 11:3
Just for folk like you.
He put you on the earth below                                           Genesis 1:26
To be His family, too.                                                         I John 3:1-3

We’re born in innocence, you know.                                 Romans 7:9
But as our lives we live,
We get distressed with those we know,
And it is ‘take’ not ‘give’.                            Matthew 22:37-40; Romans 13:8-10

We tell a lie (‘pie in the sky’),                                            Exodus 20:16
And simply write it off.
And when we’re challenged for that lie,
We merely grunt and scoff.

‘Oh, no big deal!’ Oh, yes it is.
You just committed sin.                                                      Romans 3:23
And if you even break one law,
This is the ‘fix’ you’re in:                                                   James 2:10

The wages of sin? It is death
To all, by Adam’s flesh.                                                     Romans 6:23
But God loves you. Here’s what He’ll do:
He’ll give you life afresh.

Believe in His Son, Jesus Christ,
And then your soul He’ll save.                                           Acts 16:31
And He’ll deliver you from going
To a ‘sinner’s’ grave.                                                          Daniel 12:2

For if you die, while in your sins,                                       John 8:23-24
You will not go to heaven.
But God so loves both you and me,
That He, His Son has given:                                               John 3:16-18a

That if you will believe in Him,
He’ll make for you a place
In that new heaven and new earth                                     Revelation 21:1-7
He’ll make beyond this space.

If you don’t choose His way, you lose
Eternity’s your ‘fate’;                                                        Revelation 20:11-15
And you will never get to go
Into God’s heavenly gate.

If you believe, you will receive
That everlasting life.                                                          John 10:27-29
And then your ‘fate’s’ a ‘destiny’,
From all that sin, and strife,

That all have known, while on this earth;
But there, His love will flow,
Just like a cool, refreshing breeze,
Wherever we may go.

The Bible only tells ‘Good Things’
That God has planned for man.
Before the earth was ever made,
Salvation was God’s plan.

The devil tries to take us down
Where he’ll for ever be.                                                     Revelation 20:10,15
But God wants us to be with Jesus
In eternity.                                                                          Revelation 21:5a

So what’s the Bible all about?
To guide us to God’s home,
Where there is peace, and joy, and love,
And we’ll never be alone.                                               I Thessalonians 4:16-18

Come and go with me to my Father’s house, where there are only right things all the time, and no devil to tempt anyone to be otherwise, for we shall have new everlasting flesh and bone, without the curse of Adam. (I John 3:1-2)
