         The Search For A Church
            By Allan Thomasson

‘How do you find a ‘Christian’ Church?
So many things to know
Before one makes the better choice;
To which one should I go?’

The Church was based on one main thing:
The gospel to the lost;                                               Matthew 28:18-20
For Jesus paid for our redemption
On a cruel cross.                                                        Isaiah 53; Matthew 27

The first thing we must realize,
While seeking out a Church,
Is this: Do they preach Jesus Christ?
And do the word they search?                                   II Timothy 3:16-17

Each person is responsible
For knowing Christ the Lord.                                    Acts 10:43; John 3:16
It ‘s our responsibility
To study God’s own word.                                        II Timothy 2:15

‘There is a way that seemeth right
To man’, the Bible said.
But men just took it on themselves                            I Corinthians 3:1-3
To determine what they’ve read.

But Christ has sent the Holy Ghost,
That we the truth might know.                                   John 16:12-13
But notice how the word still differs,
Every where you go.

God’s pattern for the Church, this age,                       I Corinthians 1:10
Is written in His word.
The truth is hidden from the mind                              I Corinthians 2:14
Of man, because the Lord

Has told us we ‘must worship God
In spirit and in truth’.
Not by the ‘letter’, but by faith.
And ‘good’ works are our proof

That we are walking as we should,
When ‘good’ works then prevail:                                Ephesians 2:8-10
Through ‘faith, which works by love’, He said;          Galatians 5:6b
In that we cannot fail.

The Jews, they did ‘works’ by the letter:
And ‘good’ works did not gain,
Because they mixed them not with faith,
Thus their works were in vain;                                      Romans 9:30-31

Four hundred thirty years before,
Father Abraham believed,                                              Galatians 3:16-17; Genesis 17:1-7;
As God gave him the promise that
All souls would be retrieved,

Who would believe in Jesus Christ,
The ‘Seed’ of Abraham,
Through Him all nations would be blessed,
For God is that ‘I AM’.

With these few things, you now may find
The Church where you belong,
For God will guide you by His love:
In that, you can’t go wrong.

Tip: I was an ‘Independent Baptist’ (fundamental, evangelical), and then I became ’non-denominational’, when I received the Holy Ghost on December 12, 1965, just as the about an hundred twenty (the first Church: Acts 2:4), which included the eleven apostles (see Matthew 10:1-4), and thousands upon thousands of believers (all believers) did during the ministries of the apostles.

I write truth to all believers and non-believers. To the non-believers, I encourage them, in view of the eternity into each and every person will enter at the end of our life, to believe in Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls, because God loves every one, and so do I; and I want everybody to live with me in eternity, for I will live with Christ, and God Jehovah, my heavenly Father.

I write to all believers, of every denominaiton, and those not affiliated with any specific denomination, that they might know the truth, and conform with the pattern of God for the Church of true believers (I Corinthians 1:10), that we, together might win the souls of the lost; for that is the purpose, and the number one directive of the whole Church that Jesus built (Matthew 28:18-20; Philippians 1:15-18).

In all of our ministries and teachings, we must also observe Romans chapter 14, for the perfection of any portion of any ministry must begin with humility, charity, and faith (Romans 14), which worketh by love, to produce 'good' works, and fulfill the law, keeping the commandments which Jesus gave us in the New Testament (which are based on the letter of the law, now mixed with faith, that being the acceptable fulfilment of the law:
(Romans 13:8-10; Matthew 22:34-40; John 13:34-36; John 14:21-24 with Deuteronomy 18:18-19; John 14:15-17; John 16:12-13; Acts 10:43-48;
John 1:33; Acts 1:4-5, 8; Acts 19:1-7).

Peter preached to the Gentiles, as Jesus commanded the apostles to do (Matthew 28:18-20), in Acts 10:43-48; and preached to the Jews in Acts 2:36-38, of who (each and all of us) should receive the ‘promise of the Father’ (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 1:4-5, 8), leaving no doubt that all believers should also receive the ‘baptism with the Holy Ghost’, which is the Spirit of truth, that ‘ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.’
(John 8:32: then read verse 36: and John 1:33, regarding that ministry which Jesus could not do, except from heaven, after He was again glorified with the Father: John 7:37-38; Acts 19:1-7)
