Isaiah 53:6
By Allan Thomasson
Hear the message of the Savior,
Jesus Christ, the Son of God: (John 3:16; Acts 10:43-48; Acts 1:10-14)
He came from the throne of glory,
In 'new' flesh, this earth He trod. (Hebrews 10:5; Matthew 1:28)
God had prophesied His coming:
Deuteronomy eighteen:
Verse eighteen, and also nineteen,
That our sins might be washed clean.
I will tell you what the message
Of the cross is all about:
Proof, time after time, that Jesus
Christ will not ourselves cast out
Any one who shall come to Him, (John 6:37)
And, upon His name shall call;
For God, our Lord, laid on Jesus
The iniquity of us all. (Isaiah 53:6)
For Adam sinned. And in the flesh
Of all who after him were born,
Our flesh was tainted with his sinful
Nature, worthy of God’s scorn. (Romans 5:12)
But God, in love, and with great mercy,
Sent to earth His only Son.
We hear of Him, believing then
In God our Lord’s begotten One.
For Jesus took our sins upon Him,
Freed us then, from our own ‘fate’, (Revelation 20:11-15)
And gave us faith, and cleansed us all
Who come to Him Whose name is great,
For He alone, yes, He is able,
To give us eternal life; (John 10:27-28)
For in His suff'ring, lifted up, He
Saved us from our sin, and strife.
He freely gave His power and virtue,
That in heaven we might be,
When God makes that new earth and heaven; (Revelation 21:1-4)
And takes us home: both you, and me.
‘All we like sheep have gone astray;
We have turned every one to his on way;
But God hath laid on Christ, the Savior,
All our sin’, the scriptures say. (Isaiah 53:6)
If you in sin will call upon Him,
He is faithful to forgive.
God gave us His own Son, Jesus,
That new life we now may live. (II Corinthians 5:17-18)
