                   Believe
         By Allan Thomasson

There was a time, in distant past,
When earth in sin was covered
By men with evil in their hearts,
As God the Father hovered:

So now there was no choice but this,
God must destroy all flesh,
Except the righteous souls (‘twas eight!).
And start the earth afresh.

So far from God, the earth they'd trod,
Forgot the God that made them.
So God told Noah, ‘Build an ark.’,
Then, for so long, he bade them

To thus prepare for a coming flood:
In a hundred twenty years.
So Noah and three sons did build
The ark; it was three tiers.

He made it wide, and long, and high,
As God His pattern gave.
When it was done, he and his sons,
And wives, all strong and brave,

Obeyed the Lord, Who kept His word,
For rain began to fall.
The ark did float, and so, the waters
Swept away them all,

Who did not heed, regard the deed,
Of Noah, and God‘s word;
Because they did not hearken to
The word, which they had heard.

Do you not hear God’s message, world?
He beckons now, today;
For Christ is coming very soon,
To take His bride (the Church) away.

Will you remain, who did not gain
Salvation, full and free?
If you will hearken now to God,
Then hear this word from me:

Christ died to save our sinful souls,
For sin had entered in;
And we have strayed so far from God, (Romans 3:23)
But Christ died for our sin. (Isaiah 53)

Believe on Jesus Christ, and He
Will full salvation give, (John 3:16-18)
And save you from your sinful past, (Acts 10:43)
And with Him you shall live

Forever in that great new place,
Which God shall make anew.
(Revelation 21:1-4; II Peter 3:10-13; Matthew 24:35-39)
Then in that everlasting day,
We’ll live; both me, and you.

For only righteousness is there.
And peace, and joy, and love
Will flow forever like a river,
In that home above.

Tell all your friends and family
To that new hope receive;
And then, they, too, may start anew,
If they, today, believe.

‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved:’
(Acts 16:31a)
