Our Savior Lives!
By Allan Thomasson
When Mary came to Jesus’ tomb,
The angel came, and said
That 'Jesus is not here, He’s risen;
When Mary came to Jesus’ tomb,
The angel came, and said
That 'Jesus is not here, He’s risen;
Risen from the dead!' (Matthew 28:1-7)
Come, see the place where He was laid.
No longer could death hold
The Master of the universe, (Matthew 28:18)
For prophets said, of old,
That He would die, and be entombed, (Isaiah 53:1-12)
But death could hold Him not.
He lives! He lives! The Lord, He lives!
The One Whom Mary sought.
That is the purpose, which He came
From heaven to fulfill.
And no man took His life from Him, (John 10:15-18)
He gave it by His will.
Because He rose, all men may now,
In Him put all their trust.
And when we do, both me, and you,
Will by His faith be just. (Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 3:28; Romans 4:13-17)
When we believe, we shall receive
Remission of all sins, (Acts 10:43-48)
And then have everlasting life,
For we shall enter in,
And be the family He loves, ('Father', 'sons', 'brethren')
For which all things were made. (Only the earth was made: for God's proposed family alone.)
He’ll take us to our home above,
New earth and heaven made (Revelation 21:1-4)
When all is done, the vict’ry’s won;
And we shall live with Him,
When our life here on earth is done. (James 4:14)
For He forgave our sin.
Come, see the place where He was laid.
