Jesus Paid For My Sins
By Allan Thomasson
By Allan Thomasson
I shrink within my body, when
I Ponder Jesus’ cross,
At just the thought, ‘That could be me!’
And then I sense such loss
Of those who also might have been
On Jesus’ cross that day.
But not another person could
Have taken sins away.
For Jesus came from God’s own throne, (John 17:5; John 3:13)
Came into flesh of man;
That He might live for all of us,
And die, as no man can:
The sacrifice, for sinners, all;
Our penalty He paid.
And when they came to take Him down,
Within a tomb was laid.
But just as Jonah, in the whale,
Which spat him on dry land,
The tomb in which our Savior laid
Spat Christ, alive again.
For death was not our Savior’s due,
He lived in sinless flesh.
So now, the devil’s plan, confused,
Gave us our Lord afresh.
I love it when a plan’s together!
Jesus paid it all!
For in eternity, our 'fate'
Had waited for our fall!
But now in heaven all will dwell,
Who in His name believed. (Acts 10:43-48)
And our sweet Lord, He kept His word,
And us God has received.
New heaven and new earth He’ll make
For just His family! (Revelation 20:1-4)
And I for ever there shall dwell
With Christ, Who died for me!
So then, I will pick up my cross,
And follow where He leads.
His word I’ll keep, in wake or sleep,
And duplicate His deeds.
For Jesus died for every one. (Isaiah 53:6)
No person is excluded.
For God loves you; so love Him, too;
No longer be deluded
By Satan’s plan for every man:
To steal, kill, and destroy.
Your flesh is not your friend, dear one, (Galatians 5:24)
It’s merely a decoy.
To lure you into pits of sin,
And send your soul to hell;
And then into the lake of fire, (Revelation 20:11-15)
Eternal, there to dwell.
With all the wicked angels, and
With Satan and his
But come with me, to that city,
And live for evermore
In heaven like you’ve never dreamed,
Or cannot understand.
For man’s imagination can’t
Envision things so grand!
At just the thought, ‘That could be me!’
And then I sense such loss
Of those who also might have been
On Jesus’ cross that day.
