Priorities   (April 5, 2012)

When just a kid of two, I chose

To live life as it came.
I didn’t know about the Bible;
Hadn’t heard Christ’s name.

Just country folk outside of town

Was all that I had known,
I had my parents, sisters, brother.
I was not alone.

We played together, made mud cups

And saucers, bowls, and such;
Beyond that life, no stress no strife,
Did not think very much

Of anything beyond this life,

Or what would come to be.
But one day, thinking in myself,
I thought, ‘Eternity.’.

For I now heard of God’s own word,

Just how this world would end.
I made my choice so I’d be ready,
Christ became my Friend.

For ever then, in God’s own hand,

I’d be securely stayed
In God’s own family on earth,
For to Him I had prayed,

And He had mercy on my soul,

And saved me from my sin,
So when eternity shall come
To me, I’ll enter in

To that great home prepared for me,                      

And ‘whosoever’, too,
Who will believe in Jesus Christ:                         Acts 16:31
For He died for me and you.                                  Isaiah 53:5-6; John 3:16

Where will you be in eternity?

In that great home above?
For God sent Jesus Christ, His Son             John 14:21-24; Deuteronomy 18:18-19
To show the Father’s love.

While we were sinners, Jesus’ love

Came down to us from heaven,                             Romans 5:8
When we receive God’s grace, His gift,
Salvation will be given.                                    John 3:16-18; Ephesians 2:8-10

The righteous saved, no more enslaved

By flesh, with its control,                                                Galatians 5:24
Will enter that new earth and heaven,                   Revelation 21:1-7
While endless ages roll.

The devil, and all wicked shall

Remain in eternal flame,                                        Revelation 20:10-15 
The ‘wicked’ souls? For  they did not
Believe in Jesus’ name.                                    John 3:18
