Education of the mind,
heart, and ears:
Educated by the
philosophies, religion, colleagues, academia? I have indeed been
taught in the statutes and limitations of those utilities.
But most of all, I have
been educated by the Spirit of Truth, God, the Holy Ghost, the
Spirit.
One might say, ‘Is that
different than Studying the Word?’
While it is necessary to
study the ‘word of truth’, it is essential to know the truth that
is within the ‘word of truth’.
Now one may ask, ‘Isn’t
the ‘letter’ of the word the truth?’
There is no doubt that
throughout the whole Christian Bible (both Old and New Testaments) is
the true accounts of all things which pertain to life and godliness,
and contains the truth in all things pertaining to the spiritual
principles, and doctrines, and knowledge of God, which are hidden
from the natural man, that he may not glory in them to himself, but
are made known only to those who follow the patterns and principles
of Jehovah God, which He has shown clearly and concisely by the
hidden truths within the ‘letter’ of the word.
Yes, we must, by proper
application, as declared in the scriptures, conform to the ‘letter’.
And that is exactly what the Jews did under the law. (See Ephesians
2:8-10, below.)
But the Jews profited
nothing by just performing the works of the law by the letter:
Romans 9:31-32:
31) “But Israel, which
followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained unto
(received)righteousness.
32) “Wherefore (Why)? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the (very) ‘works’ of (the ‘letter’ of) the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone (faith).”
Ephesians 2:8-10: ‘Works’,
by the law, vs. ‘good works’, through faith, which worketh by
love, thereby manifesting the law in action:
8) “For by grace (which
came by Jesus Christ: I John 1:17) are ye saved through faith; and
that (neither grace nor faith is) not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God (to all who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ):9) “Not of ‘works’, lest any man should boast (or glory in any accomplishment of his own!).
10) “For we are His workmanship, created (re-created, born again, a ‘new man’) in Christ Jesus unto ‘good works’ (which are the product of our ‘faith, which worketh by love’: Galatians 5:6b), which God hath before (creation) ordained that we should walk in them.”
And that is how we, by the
commandments of Jesus Christ, fulfil the law of Moses, and establish
the law, through faith, which worketh by love:
Romans 13:8-10:8) “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that (walking in ‘good works’, in ‘faith, which worketh by love’) loveth another hath fulfilled the law (of Moses).
9) “For this (reason), ‘Thou shalt not commit adultery’, ‘Thou shalt not kill (murder)’, ‘Thou shalt not steal’, ‘Thou shalt not bear false witness (‘against thy neighbour’)’, ‘Thou shalt not covet’ (lust for that which is not yours, or not legitimately obtainable with fair consequence).
10) “And if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.’.”
But there is only one
‘pattern’ of the essential steps that we must take , in order to
attain to that stature in the Infinite God whereby we are qualified
to know the truth within those words of the scripture. And after the
completion of those obediences, we then are given the capability of
discerning the truths from the word of truth:
Romans 10:17:
17) “So then faith
cometh by ‘hearing’, and ‘hearing’ by the word of God.”
Jesus spoke to Jews who
were born again, for they had believed on Him (John 1:11-13):
John 8:32:
32) “And ye shall know
the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Emphasis on ‘shall’:
Though they were born by the Spirit, saved from their past sins with
their eternal penalty in hell and the lake of fire, they did not yet
have access to the knowledge of the truth, any more than any other
natural man with his natural carnal mind, as we also see so many who
are currently in that same status of the believers who lived under
the law, including the apostles (John 16:12-13), who were given the
power over all the power of the enemy, the devil (Luke 10:19), and
had the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils, and
cleanse the leper (Matthew 10:8); and it is obvious that so many true
believing sisters and brothers do not know the (hidden) truth of the
Spirit of God, because we have so many variations of what some call
the truth in their doctrinal beliefs, most of which have been
determined by man’s natural evaluation of the word of truth, the
Christhan Bible.
And because of man’s
natural (carnal) reasoning, and literal interpretation (with partial
blindness, as the Jews had when they rejected Jesus and crucified
Him: Romans 11:25), we are not keeping the commandments of Christ,
which came from God the Father.
(John 13:34-35; John
14:21-24; Deuteronomy 18:18-19; Ephesians 2:8-10)
Thus, we do not in any way
conform to the pattern which God has given for the Church:
I Corinthians 1:10
Here is the reason that
man cannot, in his own natural reasoning and evaluations and analyses
of the letter of the word, attain to the truth, stated in the
following scriptures:
I Corinthians 2:14:
14) “But the natural man
receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are
foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned.”
By all of man’s many
generations of accumulated knowledge and practical reasoning, natural
man does not, nor can the natural man obtain, the capability of
knowing any spiritual thing. For God has reserved that knowledge (and
keeps it hidden) that it might be revealed by His Spirit to only His
sons (children), ‘if we follow on to know the Lord’
Hosea 6:3a:
3a) “Then shall we
know, if we follow on to know the Lord:”
When we as individuals
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the only
true and living God Jehovah, we are free from the guilt and ultimate
eternal penalty of our past sins which we have committed (Romans
3:23), though our flesh still condemned to die because of those sins
(Romans 5:12; Hebrews 9:27), our souls are saved from the current
hellfire
(Psalm 9:17), which will
be after our death sentence is executed, and from the lake of fire
(Revelation 20:10-15), and our everlasting ‘fate’ then becomes
our eternal ‘destiny’ (as shown in Revelation 21:1-7).
