'There Was A Time' (July 14, 2012)

'There Was A Time', in early life,
When every thing was good.
The times were fun for everyone
I knew, I'd understood.

So fancy free (yes, that was me!),
I didn't have a care.
... I'd 'saddle up' any time I chose,
And could go anywhere.

I saw no change that could occur,
Within my 'carefree' life.
Had plenty then, and lots of friends,
And I didn't have a wife.

But then one day, I knelt to pray,
And Christ then filled my heart;
And from then on, now not alone,
He said He'd ne'er depart.

I had not ever known before,
While having all my 'fun',
That something (Someone) could bring such joy,
But Jesus is the One

Whose love I craved, and now I'm saved
From the fear I had before,
Of dying in my sinful state,
But through my hearts open door,

He came inside (it was open wide)
And now, He's all to me.
I do not miss all those 'good times',
He filled that 'craving'. He,

Now constantly, He's here with me,
For heaven''s shore I'm bound.
'I once was blind, but now I see;
Was lost, but now I'm found.'

Thank God. I never knew He was looking for me until He touched my heart, and it came alive within me. What peace! What Love! I didn't even know it existed; now I'll never let it go!
