'The Gifts and Calling of God'
Romans 11:29:
29) "For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance."
That's what the word of God speaks through the apostles.
What does it mean?
For every principle of God, there is an exact example or event shown in the word of truth, which specifically demonstrates how, and by whom, (and when, if necessary on a time line), each principle is established, and is to be followed by all believers, as it applies to each believer:
I Corinthians 12:27:
27) "Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular."
Only those who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, unto our own salvation, are 'the body of Christ, and members (of Christ's body) in particular.'. We are the sons of God, by grace, through faith, believing in Jesus as our Savior from our past sins, and their eternal penalty, if not forgiven:
John 8:24: Jesus speaks to the Jews, and the same principle applies to all individuals in every nation::
24) "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am He, ye shall die in your sins."
What is the plan of God for the ones who have not believed?
John 3:16-18: Jesus speaks to every sinful man, descendants of Adam's flesh:
16) "For God so love the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish (die in our sins), but have everlasting life.
17) "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn (any person in) the world, but that the world through (believing in) Him might be saved (from their sins).
18) "He that believeth on Him is not condemned (any longer by their unforgiven sins which we had committed); but he that believeth not is (still) condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
And if we have truly believed in Jesus, as the scripture says, we receive the gift of salvation, and life everlasting. Here's how it works:
Ephesians 2:8-10:
8) "For by grace (of God through Christ) are ye saved through faith (in Jesus Christ, Who died for all who will believe in Him), and that (is) not of yourselves. It is the gift of God.
9) "Not of works (of righteousness by the keeping of the law of Moses), lest any man should boast.
10) "For we are HIS (God the Father's) workmanship (construction), created (re-created, born again, a 'new man') in Christ Jesus unto 'good' works (which are done in 'faith, which worketh by love'), which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
Some of us, God will call to a specific ministry (I Corinthians 12:27), and, as the gifts of God are not recalled ('without repentance'), neither is the calling which we may be called: I Corinthians 12:28, for instance.
In part two of this brief writing, I will explain how some very special believers actually handled their specific calling: and you will be very surprised.
God loves YOU! Love Him back. It's your eternity, preserve it. Believe in Christ, and keep on believing in Him: John 14:21-24.
